Small runs, familiar materials

The workshop collection is a way to study proportions and construction before commissioning a unique piece. Dining tables prioritise comfortable seating and stable, repairable frames. Benches are sized for entrances, tables or quiet corners. Low storage balances closed compartments with surfaces that can hold books, ceramics or equipment without visual clutter. Shelving is designed around span, load and access rather than a decorative grid alone.

Pieces may be adjusted within stated limits for timber, size and finish. Because boards are selected in small groups, grain will vary from one object to another. We share current material options and realistic lead times before an order is confirmed. Care notes explain daily cleaning, heat and moisture precautions and what to do if a surface eventually needs refreshing.

Evidence before the bench work

The approved record combines dimensions, elevation or perspective drawings, material notes and the selected finish. Details that affect everyday use—clear opening, shelf height, cable passage, wall fixing and floor variation—are identified before boards are cut. If the room is unfinished, the drawing states which site dimensions must be confirmed later.

Workshop progress is checked at meaningful stages, not photographed continuously for appearance. A client may review a finish sample, unusual grain selection or a dry fit where the decision cannot be recovered after assembly. Delivery protection, access and final adjustment are then planned from the actual piece rather than a generic vehicle assumption.
